A Simpler Way to Set Up Projects

Set up a project, choose its stages and add useful task fields with a simple example.

Tasks helps you choose a workflow and the details your tasks need, one step at a time.

Start with the project, then add its details

Select Project Template screen with Inbox, Daily Planner, Fitness Tracker and other templates.View full size (opens in a new tab)↗
Start with a project template that fits the kind of work you want to organise.
Daily Planner project setup with Do and Doing status cards and a Next button.View full size (opens in a new tab)↗
Choose the workflow stages before continuing to the rest of the project setup.

The useful idea is that each project can have its own setup. A shopping list can stay small. A home repairs project may benefit from a date, notes and photos.

A small project is enough to get started

Example project: Home repairs

  1. Task“Book the plumber”
  2. StagesTo do → In progress → Done
  3. Useful detailsA Date for the visit, Notes for the problem and an Attachment for a photo.
This example shows what the choices mean. You can add more detail later when the project needs it.

Not seeing these fields in an existing project? Follow the current guides to add Date, Notes or Attachments. A project may simply be missing that field.
