Who these terms are with
Tasks is made by Msquare Labs ("we"), registered in Mumbai, India. These terms cover the Tasks apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, Tasks Cloud and this website. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If the two disagree, these terms win where the law allows.
Free and Tasks Plus
The free version includes the essentials, with some limits, such as the number of projects. Tasks Plus unlocks every feature, including unlimited projects, sharing, Smart Lists, custom fields and workflows, attachments and app icons.
You can get Tasks Plus as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Family plans can be shared through Apple Family Sharing. People you invite to a shared project don't need Tasks Plus to join. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
Subscriptions and refunds
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings. After you cancel, Tasks Plus stays on until the period you paid for ends.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If you reinstall Tasks or get a new device, use Restore Purchases in the app.
Your account
You don't need an account to use Tasks with iCloud. You need one to share projects or connect an AI assistant. Keep access to your email and Apple Account secure, because anyone who can sign in as you can see your Tasks Cloud projects. You can delete your account at any time in the app.
Your content
The projects, tasks, comments and files you add are yours. You give us permission to store, sync and show them only so Tasks works for you and the people you share with. We don't claim ownership and we don't use your content to advertise.
You're responsible for what you add, and for having the right to add it.
Shared projects
- Everyone in a shared project can see its contents. Only invite people you trust with them.
- Owners and admins decide who can join and what role they have. They can remove members at any time.
- Don't use invites to send spam or to reach people who don't want to hear from you.
AI assistants
When you connect an AI assistant, you allow it to act in Tasks on your behalf in the projects you add it to. You're responsible for what it does there, just as you would be for your own changes. The assistant is provided by another company under its own terms and privacy policy, and we're not responsible for its answers or actions. You can revoke its access at any time. See our Privacy Policy for what it can see.
Fair use
Please don't:
- use Tasks for anything illegal, or to harass or harm anyone,
- upload malware or content you don't have the right to share,
- try to break into, overload or reverse engineer Tasks Cloud, or get around Tasks Plus,
- resell or copy the app.
If an account breaks these rules, we may suspend or close it. Where we can, we'll tell you first and give you the chance to export your data.
Your data and backups
We work hard to keep Tasks reliable and your data safe, but no service is perfect. Keep your own copy of anything important with Export Data in Settings. iCloud syncing is provided by Apple and Reminders syncing uses Apple's Reminders app, so their availability also depends on Apple.
Changes to Tasks
We keep improving Tasks, so features may change, move to Tasks Plus or be removed. If we ever stop running Tasks Cloud, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
The legal part
Tasks is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we're not liable for indirect losses, such as missed deadlines or lost profits. If we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for Tasks in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be handled by the courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra. If you live elsewhere, you keep any consumer rights your own country gives you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and tell you in the app about important changes. If you keep using Tasks after a change, the new terms apply.
