Make Tasks Easier to Read and Use

Start with the text size you can read comfortably. Then choose an appearance and project names that make it easy to recognise your work.

Make the text comfortable

On iPhone or iPad, open the device’s Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size → Larger Text. Adjust the slider, then return to Tasks and open a task you use often. For more sizes, enable Larger Accessibility Sizes. See Apple’s text size guide.

Choose the adjustment that helps

Text feels too smallAdjust Larger Text in the device's accessibility settings.
The appearance is uncomfortableTry light, dark or system appearance in Tasks settings.
Text is hard to distinguishTry Bold Text or Increase Contrast in the device's display accessibility settings.

Check a familiar task after each change so you can tell what helps.

Not seeing a text-size control inside Tasks? Use the device setting above. Tasks uses Dynamic Type to scale supported text. If a label is cut off at your preferred size, send support the screen name, device and app version.

Give colours clear names

Name a project Work or Home, and name statuses for what they mean, such as Planned, Active and Done. Add colours and icons to help you recognise them quickly.

Use the status guide to name the stages in your project. If you want a written priority such as High, use a Priority field. Not seeing Priority? Add it to the project.

Use the input method that works for you

Tasks supports VoiceOver and keyboard access. If you already use VoiceOver, open a familiar project and check that you can find a task, read its details and change its status. On iPad or Mac, try the keyboard shortcuts walkthrough.

For themes and alternate app icons, look in Tasks settings. For VoiceOver and other assistive technologies, use your device’s accessibility settings. If a control is hard to reach or understand, contact support with what you were trying to do and the assistive technology you use.
