Reminders and recurrence

Bring the task back at the useful moment.

Repeat on the calendar, repeat after completion, or attach a reminder to a place instead of checking the list all day.

Two kinds of repeat

A fixed rule is right for “every Monday at 9.” Completion-based recurrence is right for “seven days after I actually finish.” Choosing the right model prevents overdue copies from piling up.

  • Daily, weekly and flexible calendar rules
  • Completion-based recurrence
  • Date and time notifications
  • Location reminders where supported

Use place when place changes the action

A location reminder is useful for groceries, errands or work that only makes sense on arrival or departure. Keep the title actionable so the notification is enough context on its own.

Notification limits still apply

Delivery depends on system notification permissions, Focus settings and location access. Tasks can schedule the reminder, but Apple’s system controls whether and how it appears.
